There were times when the recruitment process was stalled due to various reasons. The last time, about 17,000 police posts were filled through the recruitment process undertaken in 2022. The candidates selected then completed their training and received their appointment letters from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in 2024.

According to the information received at present, it is estimated that there are about 12 thousand vacancies at the level of Constable and SI. However, this number is likely to increase further in the wake of the resumption of retirements in 2024. In the wake of the government raising the retirement age from 58 to 61 years in the past, many employees continued from 2021 to March 2024. Now that all of them have retired, the number of vacancies has increased significantly. Keeping this in mind, there are chances that the state government will soon start a new recruitment process.
