The central government has decided to take action against the country that is instigating terrorist attacks on India, and as part of this, it has announced several key decisions.

Center orders Pakistani citizens to leave India

According to an official order issued by the Union Home Ministry on April 24, Pakistani nationals in India on temporary visas have been advised to leave the country. The deadline for them has been set for April 27. Within four days of this decision, the Attari-Wagah border will be closed.537 Pakistani citizens, including nine diplomats, officials have also left for their home country. This is a testament to the seriousness of the measures taken by India. On the other hand, 850 Indians in Pakistan have also returned to India . The deadline set by India for Pakistani citizens holding twelve types of short-term visas to leave the country ended on Sunday. Now, those holding medical visas have until tomorrow.

Severe penalties for those who do not leave within the deadline

The Centre has warned Pakistanis in India that they will be sent directly to jail if they do not leave the country within the stipulated time. According to the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, which came into force on April 4, Pakistani citizens in India who overstay their visas can face up to three years in jail/a fine of Rs 3 lakh or both.

Prime Minister Modi's response

In the recent “Mann Ki Baat” program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted strongly to the Pahalgam terror attack. He expressed deep condolences to the 26 people who were martyred in the attack. Modi reiterated that no matter how much the criminals conspired, they should not be ignored and that strict punishment will definitely be meted out to them. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has already stepped into the field in the Pahalgam attack. NIA teams have been staying at the scene since Wednesday and are conducting an intensive search for evidence. The NIA is working to identify the network of the accused and to expose the involvement of the terrorist organizations behind the attack.
